TOEFL iBT ⭐︎
TOEFL iBT, Test of English as a Foreign Language, is a test to evaluate English ability in an academic situation for those not native speakers of English. The test is used for almost all schools, colleges, and universities in English spoken countries.
TOEFL iBT is the third version of TOEFL. Compared to the past version of TOEFL, iBT is hard for most Japanese because Japanese tend to be not good at speaking English. Another reason for it is the “Integrated Test.” In integrated questions, you need to integrate listening skills, speaking skills, and writing skills.
There are not a lot of opportunities where you speak English living in Japan. In addition, almost all classes are taught in Japanese, not in English. These points mean that Japanese are in a disadvantaged situation for learning academic English, especially speaking.

現在はInternet based testで3代目になりますが、過去のTOEFLと比較して半端なく難しいです。一つの理由はスピーキングセクションが導入されたこと。そしてもう一つが複数のスキルが必要な問題があることです。リスニングした内容を話す、書くが必要になります。
日本での暮らしではあまり英語を話す機会がありません。また、日本の学校は英語以外はほぼ日本語で授業が行われているため、英語を話すのが苦手なのは仕方ないことです。
TOEFL iBTはとても難しく、日本人の多くは１２０点満点の半分60点に届かないでしょう。

Goal Essay asks applicant’s plan after graduation. It should include a reason. It is like a pitch in which applicants present their ideas. Goal essay is one hint for admissions to judge applicant’s prosperity in the future. Indeed, applicants need to attract admissions officers.
Personal Essay has several styles. It asks about leadership experiences in an academic or professional situation and sometimes questions what is a unique point. Personal Essay must be original and unique to distinguish an applicant from others. It should contain efforts, achievements, and teamwork. Personal Essay shows applicant’s personality and thoughts on problem-solving.
Optional Essay is an essay that an applicant uses to inform admissions of extra information.
